Customer email notifications explained

Whenever there are new activities in your mutual action plan (MAP), your buyer can now receive notifications with updates via email.

What are customer email notifications for MAP activities?

You can now enable automatic email notifications to be send to your customers for new activities in your spaces. The automated alert allows your customers to stay up to date on key events and are a simple, but effective way to bring them back to your space. At the same time you save time, as you don't need to write emails manually to their customer, to make sure they are aware of recent updates in a space. 

How to set up and activate/deactivate email notifications for a customer?

Customer email notifications need to be activated individually in each space:

  1.  In your space, under 'Settings', go to 'Stakeholders & Notifications'.

  2. In the sections 'E-Mail Notifications' all available notifications are listed.

If you want to deactivate customer email notifications again, simply re-click on the boxes under the activities you don't want your customers to receive notifications for. 

Your customer can unsubscribe from email notifications if they no longer want to receive activity updates via email (see below). In every mail, there is a 'unsubscribe' button located at the bottom of the page. Once they are unsubscribed, they can not be re-added, so please carefully align with your customers on their email preferences.

How do I know, if my customer has received a notification?

Every time we send an email to your customer, we show an activity in the activity feed to inform you that an email has been sent.

What are the events that trigger notifications?

After you've added a customer as a recipient notifications are triggered each time when one of the below event occurs in your space:

  • All comments: For replies or any comments added to the space. Users will get notifications, whenever a comment is posted to the space, any block or MAP. They will not get notified for comments they make themselves.

  • Action Plan Task assigned: We notify the customers each time they are assigned to a task in an action. Users will receive notifications only when they personally are assigned to a task, but not when tasks are assigned to others.

  • Action Plan Task due reminder: We notify the customer at the scheduled time(s) when a task they are assigned to approaches the due date, but not about due dates tasks assigned to others. Meaning that users will only receive notifications for task assigned to them.

  • Action Plan Milestone completed: We notify the customer when any milestone in this space is completed, even if they are not assigned or otherwise associated with the specific action plan.

Can I see in the space if e-mail notifications are enabled?

Yes. In the Action Plan assignee modal, we display which email notifications are enabled for your assignees. Additionally, in the Action Plan block, you’ll see a bell icon next to their name if any email notifications are enabled for them.
